BROKEN MIRROR (2019)

Standing on an ice cube where inside is a knife, is a work which focuses on movement of the body when pain and pleasure are crossing each other. In His studio, Siagian let a knife frozed for a night in a plastic box filled with water. The morning after, it became frozen brick. He tightens up this brick of ice on his foot with a robe, like a lace of shoe soles and tries to discover a movement that can relate to the abstract gesture. Siagian aim to trigger different techniques of moving the body controlled by fear and pain. The faster he moves, the faster the ice melts the closer the point of the knife will cut the palm of his foot. The feeling is similiar when you cur yourself with a broken glass, carefully we walk among the ruins trying not to get cut.
The whole body is alert to each step that it takes. The energy changes the awareness and focus to balance in every limb of the body that exposes an interesting position.
